Long term project at L'Orangerie de Lanniron

Castel Camping L'Orangerie de Lanniron is a top quality member of 'Les Castels', with a great range of amenities including a new aqua parc and a 9 hole golf course.

The site has been developed in the grounds of a manor house, built by the Bishop of Quimper in the 17th century.

As well as the manor house, there are also wonderful formal gardens here, built at the time of Louis XIV and Versailles.

The formal gardens, very fashionable in the 17th century, are a mixture of Italian baroque and French classical gardens.Their full restoration began in  1989 after the devastating hurricane of 1987. Work began with everything that was “infrastructure”, that is to say alleys , terraces, walls. Many works remain to be accomplished in order to consolidate the retaining walls and terraces. The “decorative” restorations, such as flowers and fountains, are planned for the years ahead and will be finishing touch of this long restoration project.

Visitors to the site are able to already enjoy these unique gardens, as they revert to their former glory.
