hi
you would be best to book ....the municipal sites are more likely to have spaces than commercial sites but we`ve often had problems especially at the start of august

Worth going on line to check when French school holidays might crowd sites. Also consider Aires en-route (Alan Rogers guide?). D.

Hi can anyone recommend a tourning camp site please.

We are family of four traveling for the first time. I will be traveling with my wife (who isn't very keen so really keen to make a great trip and make the use of our new tourer) daughter 11 & son 8, we could either do the channel tunnel or ferry to Calais.

We would rather not travel too far on our first visit, but really want to find a great quality site with good facilities for the children, near beaches/lake and quaint local towns.
