Default Electricity

Hello all

I am a newbie and would love some advice. I have camped in the uk with no problems as of yet and loved every minute. We are now going to venture further a field and go to France, Germany and ??????? The question I have is when I look in the Alan Rogers Europe guide it talks about electric hook ups, this is where I get confused. Some sites say 2A or 6A or 10A?? What does this actually mean?? I have and use a three socket hook up which is compatible with 2 pin european sockets.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Neil, hope you don't mind me 'piggybacking' on your post as a fellow Newbie but I was about to ask a question about electricity too.

We just bought a 3-socket hook-up and assumed (somewhat ignorantly as it turns out) that all we needed was a European 2-pin converter, but we're being told all kinds of things about 'reverse polarity', which might as well be Chinese for all I understand.

Can anyone please explain this to me in simple terms and tell me what we need to have/do?

Many thanks.
