Camping in Italy

Hi, Im looking to tour parts of Italy next year!

Im thinking I want to go to Pompeii, Rome and Venice. Need to know where would be nice to camp and whats the best way to get around the place.

You may not know but Alan Rogers do a specilist Guide to Italy. I think it would be useful for you. It has all the different regions and independent reports on the campsites.

Try camping Mediterraneo on the Venice lagoon. Nice clean site, really good restaurant. Catch a bus to the ferry for Venice where you come in to St Marks square. About 13 euros for a 12 hour ticket the allows you to travel on all the public transport there.
