Default Motorcycle touring/camping

Thanking you in advance.....
Hi. I'm going to be shipping my Honda Goldwing to Europe in the spring of 2012 and would appreciate any advice on how far in advance I would need to make a reservation at a typical campsite. I would be on a very loose schedule and have no set itinerary, so I cannot make any real arrival/departure dates. Also, on this website, is there a thread for biker/campers?
Best regards and thanks again,

Default Camping Europe

Hi, I can only speak for France where we have lived for 16 years and Spain where we have spent a lot of time touring on my Road King, but here goes. Apart from July and August which are the two almost exclusive months for holidays in France you will find most campsites have lots of space and do not need to be booked. Spain the same. There is a slight demand at Easter but the rest of the time apart from July and August no problems. The advantage of this is you can choose where you stop after checking out the facilities particularly toilets etc before you decide to stop there. You can pick up a guide to all campsites in the book - map section of any big Supermarket. Hope this helps Steve

Default camping reservations

Most kind of you to reply. WOW! I realize its been months since I posted my enquiry, so it is indeed good of you to reply. Yes, I still plan my trip..just continuing to make plans. It is good news that no real reservations need to be made. I will probably ship my bike to the south of Europe first in the early spring and work my my north as the weather warms up. And thank you,
