We are looking at taking our first camping trip to the Netherlands with our dog. Im looking for any recommendations, tips and advice. I think we shall be looking at going at the end of June 2012. Is it advisable to book in the Netherlands or is it how it used to be in the UK where usually you can turn and usually find a pitch? (we will be in a tent). We are quite big walkers but would be like to be near the sea but also somewhere where we can explore more inland or have good public transport links to explore other areas. Any advice or recommendations would be welcomed.
If anyone is wondering why the Netherlands its because its one of the few countries where my dog isnt considered to be a dangerous dog, unfortunately its not a conversation that crops up when rescuing a dog. Also if anyone is familair with the formalities of travelling with a dog on Stena line that would be useful too. Thanks in advance Sarah |

Netherlands - brill place, but can't help with the doggy aspect
recommend you get ACSI card, and explore the options, you could head for their lakes area - Friesland - public transport is generally pretty good, walking easy - but watch out for bikes they have right of way over most other forms of transport - including walking - and excellent bike tracks have fun, enjoy the apple pie n whipped cream - ![]() |
