Default Sites in Cantabria / Asturias?

We'll be two families, each with children of 6 and 3, arriving by ferry in Santander towards the latter part of August. We'll be under canvas and, in an ideal world, looking for a quiet site, but one where there are things for the kids to enjoy. Good if in/near the mountains. Bonus if campfires allowed. Thinking rural, but reasonably close to amenities and, say, 30 minutes (ish) from beach. Extra bonus if good walking/rivers/swimming nearby. I know there'll be something out there! More than happy to travel some distance from Santander. Thanks! Alex

Default Camping La Viorna

We stayed at Camping La Viorna just outside Potes a few years ago. It is most beautifully situated looking out towards the Picos de Europa. Also, the facilities were first rate and were kept spotless. We were there in low season so I expect it would be quite busy in the height of summer. It has a website.

It's a lovely area with lots to see and do. Hope you find somewhere.

Anne

Default Campsites in northern Spain

We have visited this area a few times, we love it. Los Cantiles at Luarca is lovely, very peaceful with some fab beaches nearby. Also last year we stayed at Camping La Isla Picos de Europa, which is by the side of the road to Fuente De but not too noisy, again a lovely site. Las Arenas at Pechon is OK, fantastic location but can get crowded.

Enjoy this beautiful part of Spain!
