Angry Camping Indigo Ile D'Oleron

I returned yesterday from the campsite on Oleron. Firstly I would like to tell you that it is very well kept and clean; one of the cleanest that I have ever stayed on.
We chose the site carefully noting that your camp sites are quiet and that ”the activities are never noisy”; however we were sadly mistaken. On the evenings of Monday 4th July and Tuesday 5th July the noise until late at night was almost unbearable. On the Monday night a film about Oleron was shown and the volume was far too loud and could be heard all over the campsite not just close to the snack bar. It finished at 11.30pm and so the campsite was not quiet until midnight. This is far too late for a family campsite. The campsite had many small children on it and they could not settle.
This was bad enough but on the following evening an entertainer was singing: we walked for fifteen minutes through the forest down to the beach and could still clearly hear the music. This gives you an idea of how loud it was. This music went on until 11.30pm keeping the campsite and the surrounding neighbours awake until midnight a second time. This is completely unacceptable and I know that people on surrounding pitches were not happy because we spoke to them about it.
I spoke to a member of staff “Estelle” and whilst being polite she did not really care
We had deliberately chosen a campsite that said it was a peaceful place to holiday but we were misguided by the brochure and found the reality to be quite different. The whole ethos that you have portrayed in your literature “simple camping spirit” and “a nice natural and quiet place”. You say “That considers everyone's different preferences” , and “let the wind rustling through the canvas lull you to sleep”.
