We have just brought a 2nd hand caravan, and I was woundering what I can store in it over the winter months. It will be outside, but covered in tarporling, and any other tips......
We have been camping in the past, but decided this year to "upgrade". Great web site. I am sure I will be back! |

I wouldnt cover it, probably best to give it a realy good polish and if possible keep the electric connected so your battery gets a charge. Then on a nice sunny day you can sit in it, plus its easier to nip in and do odd jobs

Thanks everyone for all your help. We have decided to keep it outside the house, and keep an eye on it this winter, and can check it everyday if needed. Also great hideway for me, so I can have a potter and a cuppa, and have five mins of peace and quiet from the family. I have bowls and salt at the ready. Just about to start painting it, as it looks rather tired. Love this site. I have spent quite alot of time reading all the info, and hope that one day I will be in a position to answer some questions.

If you can run an electric supply, makes it a bit cosier to use as an extra room over the winter. We use our caravan (which is now redundant since we moved to motorhome) for a teens room during the summer and a wine and beer store in winter. We did in the past use it as a store for Santa Clause in the runup to Christmas. My grown up kids still havent figured out that thats where the prezzies were hidden. One other thing, put polish on the van but dont then polish it. Makes it easier to get rid of the black sstreaks in springtime

That has given me a few ideas Terry, maybe a wine bar in the spring, and a vodka ice house in the winter........the list is endless. Thanks.
